Since I was little I've felt like I was born in the wrong era... I'm a totally laid back un-valley, valley girl. I'm gonna be upfront here and confess to having a lot of faults, so if you're overly judging, my guess is we wouldn't make a good match. I like traditional old fashioned boys, I pay my own bills, but does that mean I have to open my own car door too? I usually smoke close to a pack of cigarettes a day which is a nasty habit, but it's my habit, so if you think you're going to be my quitting smoking 'savior' it's not gonna happen. Hey hey I am Jay from LA and I am looking to have some fun; so I thought I'd give this a go. I am a easy going, mature, stable creative type who enjoys a good adventure every now and then, whether it's a Vegas trip for the day, getting burnt to a crisp on the beach, or enjoying a wine bar. years later, what has changed?

well there was Korea for awhile and Russia briefly though my Russian is far superior to the two paltry Korean phrases i can remember. Still pursuing scenography except now i've sold myself back out to academia and become a bonafide Grad Student with enough debt to cripple a fair sized elephant....

this is an edit. this is an update. i am old now, slightly scandanavianized and missing my montreal. and not just for the tams and the Chinese food and the prostitute angels of st. Jacques.

I love getting to know people and fall in and out of infatuation constantly. . that is an old sentence and it's still true. just this past few`months, I've fallen briefly for a German architect, an Icelandic playwright, a scientist, a Swedish scholar and a silly wonderful cocky boy from bristol.

i like the world best when it's full of people from places i don't know very well. I'm living in a postcard town in Norway right now being taught by masters in the field i'm trying to pursue.

it's scenography, the design of space, architecture meets drama. I'm not terrible at it. more? books are friends not foes, so are paintbrushes, clay and random bits of things i find just about everywhere. hot glue is a goddess. musical instruments, although i adore them, are beyond me. although boys and girls who can play them impress me immensely,

also, condensing myself into this box is still stupid.

I am against monopolies (especially those that may not be considered monopolies because of crafty laws cough* wal-mart cough*). I understand the drudgery of not having opportunities in one's life, as well as maybe missing out on the ability to create opportunities. I support: support groups, legalizing drugs, choice of abortion, welfare, the voice of the people(or voice of the voice ;) federal and state governments alike, as well as hard work, self control, dedication and sacrifice. - I figure you can learn enough about me by knowing some of my values:)

I read a lot of books, watch some shows, and play some video/computer games. I do like to go out, but I'm this strange mix of chatty/confident and shy/timid. I like people who can draw me out.

I go to the San Diego Comic Con every year, and so do many of my friends. I like to go camping. Not pavement camping, not with campers, but with TENTS. I don't get to go very often though.

I have a wonderful dog, a treeing walker coonhound and husky mix named Rusty. Nobody where I live has ever heard of a coonhound.

I'm a Christian (Roman Catholic, specifically). I go to church (almost) every week and I like it. I favor the "love everybody" and "forgiveness is nifty" side of Christianity. I have a quiet, natural form of faith. What does that mean? I can't quote Scripture on command, I don't do lengthy debates, but I try to see God in everything and let my religious/spiritual beliefs guide my actions.

I've been asked why I'm single quite often. One, I don't really get out much, so I just plain don't meet people. And I said earlier, I do have this natural timidity which makes meeting new people a little hard. Two, I don't like DATING. Like getting dressed up, doing it the "official" or "proper" way, etc etc blah blah blah. I like casual, I like hanging, I like just going out. Three, I'm a bit of a bitch. I mean, I'm mostly nice.
